Oooh, Shiny

I’ve been busy these last few months getting distracted by a bunch of new ideas! Here’s what’s been going on:

White Line Nightmare

I’ve been reworking WLN’s text to hopefully be friendlier to newer gamers. I have no misconceptions that it’s a niche game of a niche hobby that I’m primarily making for myself, but refining the text has led to solving some design issues.

I got in a playtest and that helped quite a bit as well.

Brawls In Small Halls

I went down a beat ’em up rabbit hole thanks to Shredder’s Revenge and Fights in Tight Spaces and designed a prototype PvE beat ’em up maps-and-minis card game. It mostly branched off my White Line Nightmare minigame work, so there might be compatibility.

Power Metal Cyber Future

I talk a bit about the origins for PMCF in an earlier post, and as my 5e campaign creeps to a close amidst higher-level play, this idea has gotten more traction. I think some of the minigames from White Line Nightmare would transfer (Vista scenes would become Jumpspace forex) and I could pull in my experience from Super Bandit to make an engaging Grand Space Adventure.
